Abstract
Tin oxide electrodes prepared using a procedure which gave a favorable part icle size distribution, were tested as anodes in cells using a gel-type pol ymer electrolyte and a mixed nickel-cobalt oxide cathode. So far only a few papers dealing with complete cells using a tin oxide anode, a liquid elect rolyte, and a high voltage cathode of the LiMO2 (M = Co, Ni,.) type have be en reported. To our knowledge, this is the first report that cites tin oxid e electrodes used in a polymer-electrolyte cell. The preliminary results re ported in this work demonstrate that the use of tin oxide electrodes, so fa r limited to liquid electrolytes, can be successfully extended to polymer-e lectrolyte cells.
