Abstract
A 3TDit/s (160Gbit/s x 19 channels) optical signal has been successfully tr ansmitted over 40km of dispersion-shifted fibre. Low noise-supercontinuum s ignal pulse sources, and: 70nm bandwidth tellurite-based optical amplifiers are used for 3Tbit/s signal generation and amplification.
