The constituents of the essential oil of Matricaria decipiens C. Koch (Aste
raceae) were investigated by GLC and CC-MS. Twenty-seven components, repres
enting 96% of the oil, were characterized. The major components were isomer
s of matricaria eater with 1,8-cineole. The different isomers of matricaria
ester were separated by TLC and preparative HPLC. The stereochemistry of t
he different isomers was assigned by NMr spectral data. Copyright (C) 1999
