The first tetranuclear chromium(II) complex;with the prototypical structure [Cr-4(mu(4)-O)(mu-X)(6)L-4] has been prepared by reaction of stoichiometri c amounts of CrCl2, LiOH . H2O, and (BuLi)-Li-n.
