Abstract
Snow samples have been collected by pushing clean Teflon PTFE samplers in t he walls of hand-dig pits from two locations in Antarctica: Hercules Neve a nd McCarthy Ridge, (Victoria Land). Reactive mercury concentration was dete rmined in 28 samples using the cold vapours techniques with atomic fluoresc ence detection. Mean concentrations observed were: 0.23 ng L-1 and 0.47 ng L-1 for Hercules Neve and McCarthy Ridge, respectively.
