Abstract
Computations that require large amounts of data-I/O are naturally suited to optically-interconnected VLSI electronics, otherwise known as optoelectron ic-VLSI (OE-VLSI). In this paper, we briefly review the motivations and sta tus of emerging OE-VLSI technologies.
