The structure in MBE-grown Fe/Cr/Fe (d(Fe) = 40 Angstrom, 20 Angstrom < d(C
r) < 110 Angstrom) has been investigated with ion beam channeling. The temp
erature dependence of the interlayer exchange coupling is strongly dependen
t on the growth temperature of the layers. For the layers grown at 573 K th
e interlayer exchange coupling is suppressed well below room temperature. T
his effect is not related to the strain in the Cr layers, which is found to
be largely relaxed and only moderately dependent on the growth temperature
