The effects on triglyceride content were studied in calli of Hevea brasilie
nsis (Mull Arg.) after addition of various amino acids, alone or coupled, t
o the induction medium. All amino acids allowing a good embryogenic calli p
roduction also provided an important increase in the triglyceride content,
whereas amino acids with an inhibitory effect: on embryogenesis induced no
or little enhancement of the calli triglyceride content.
