Abstract
The reaction of 4-bromo-2-arylpyrazolines with fluorene has been studied in different solvents and employing different bases. The exclusive formation of the 9,9'-disubstituted-fluorene is found to be dependent upon the nature of the solvent and the nature of the base employed as well.
