M. Noshiravani et al., RKKY theory of oscillatory exchange coupling in the generalized random-phase approximation, PHYS REV B, 59(22), 1999, pp. 14461-14465
The Singwi-Tosi-Land-Sjolander (STLS) version of the generalized random pha
se approximation is used to calculate the exchange coupling between two fer
romagnetic layers separated by a nonmagnetic transition-metal spacer. Expli
cit numerical calculations for the spin-antisymmetric static local-field co
rrection and spin-response function for palladium are presented. Taking int
o account the static screening effect of s electrons on d holes of palladiu
m the variation of the exchange coupling as a function of palladium thickne
ss for the Fe/Pd/Fe trilayer system is determined. The results compared wit
h experimental data show good consistency. [S0163-1829(99)02421-2].
