Abstract
The line shape of photoemission spectra for underdoped cuprates is studied within the two-dimensional extended Hubbard model. Strong anisotropic scatt ering along the Fermi surface and the destruction of the Fermi surface near (0,pi) are obtained for underdoped cuprates. These features an fully consi stent with the recent angle-resolved photoemission experiments for underdop ed Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta as well as with the recent QMC calculations. [S0163- 1829(99)12421-4].
