Abstract
A series of semifluorinated fluorocarbon/hydrocarbon di- and triblock copol ymers were prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The mon o- and difunctional macroinitiators, which were obtained from bulk ATRP of styrene, butyl acrylate and methyl acrylate, initiated solution ATRP of 2- [(perfluorononenyl)oxy]ethyl methacrylate and ethylene glycol mono-methacry late mono-perfluorooctanoate, respectively. The formation of the block copo lymer was confirmed with size exclusion chromatography and H-1 NMR spectrum . (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
