Abstract
The diene moiety (C-9-C-18) of amphidinolide B, a potent cytotoxic macrolid e isolated from the marine dinoflagellate Amphidinium sp., has been synthes ized by a coupling reaction of an alkynyl anion of 5 and the aldehyde 7, fo llowed by Michael addition and methylenation.
