Abstract
A simple pressing test is a research tool for press dewatering studies. In the centrifugal compression value (CCV) test, a pulp pad is placed between a press felt and brass weight and then centrifuged. The centrifugal force d rives the weight against the pad and continuously removes the expressed wat er from the felt. The CCV test can measure the purely mechanical resistance of a pulp to compression. The CCV test is precise, flexible, and independe nt of many complicating variables.
