Experimental data for different transmembrane pressures and feed inlet velo
cities of several feed inlet concentrations of starch-water solutions have
been obtained by using an Ultrafiltration module of plate and frame membran
es. Analysis of the concentration-polarization phenomena in terms of diffus
ion enabled the calculation of mass transfer coefficients. By using a multi
ple and nonlinear regression procedure, these coefficients were correlated
to the Grober and Chilton-Colburn equations. This enabled us to evaluate it
s behaviour prediction.
