Abstract
We report a 16-month-old boy with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADE M) who had an early relapse despite prompt treatment with high dose methylp rednisolone. The second episode responded to intravenous immunoglobulin (IV Ig). This case illustrates the probability of relapses or treatment failure s in ADEM after steroid treatment, and the use of alternative drugs. (C) 19 99 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
