Da. Boccardi et Tj. Hoffman, THE MOVEMENT FOR CHURCH UNITY IN CHRISTIANITY - CONTRIBUTING FACTORS, The Social science journal, 34(2), 1997, pp. 159-170
This study highlights the recent history of the movement for Christian
unity and empirically examines those factors which affect clerical an
d lay attitudes towards ecumenism among 8 Christian denominations. Rel
igious affiliation, belief in the communion of saints, one's relations
hip with Mary, and attitude towards gender equality in the church are
found to be important explanatory variables in an analysis of support
for church unity.
