In this publication, we report the results of experimental investigation in
to shock compression of solutions of CCl4 and C6H14 taken in the weight rat
io of 50/50 and 70/30 in the pressure range from 10 to 25 GPa. Certain poin
ts of the Hugoniots, brightness temperatures of shock fronts, and acoustic
velocities behind the shock front are determined. Acoustic velocities in pu
re hexane are evaluated. The data obtained are compared with the results of
calculations under the assumption of additivity of specific volumes and in
ternal energies of the components.
