New types of nonpolluting flame retardants for polymers. The effect of morphology on combustibility of the polypropylene-ternary ethylene-propylene copolymer system

The effect of the composition of isotactic polypropylene - ternary ethylene
-propylene copolymer mixtures on their combustibility is studied. A method
for reducing combustibility of polymer materials based on modification of t
heir structure is suggested for the first time. The data on combustibility
parameters of the mixtures studied as a function of their composition sugge
st a possible correlation between the polymer morphology and combustibility
, namely, an effect of the interface layer in polymer mixtures on inhibitio
n of their high-temperature oxidation and burning.
