Abstract
The possibility of using an axial force probe to detect self-oscillating co mbustion of samples which yield solid reaction products and some amount of gas is demonstrated. Densified samples of Ti + C + 20% TiC containing disti lled water in compression pores were used in the experiments. The parameter s of the fluctuations in the pressure of the gaseous phase in the reaction front are determined for these samples as they burn in a self-oscillating r egime.
