Abstract
It is assumed that an unusual effect of a magnetic held on the La0.5Ca0.5Mn O3 ceramic is caused by an electron-vibron transition in a MnO3 complex. Th e analysis of the structural features, electron-density distribution, ESR d ata, and the temperature dependence of magnetoresistance supports this hypo thesis.
