Abstract
There has been proposed a technique for getting granulated thorium dioxide from its salts solutions according to the cryogenic technology by the metho d of a solid phase conversion. It includes the following operations: disper sion of the initial solution into liquid nitrogen and getting of cryogranul es of the necessary size by putting oscillations of definite frequency on a die device and by charging formed drops in the constant electric field; so lid phase conversion of thorium salts into its hydroxide by treating cryogr anules with a cooled ammonia solution, drying and calcination of hydroxide granules having got granulated thorium dioxide. At the pilot facility there have been defined and developed optimum regimes for getting granulated tho rium dioxide. The mechanism of thorium hydroxide cryogranules conversion in to thorium dioxide was investigated by the thermal analysis methods.
