Abstract
An attempt has been undertaken to find a correlation beetween the valency f orms of uranium and the isotopic ratio (AR=U-234/U-238) following the incon gruent dissolving of the mineral aegirine. The low values of AR (approximat e to 0.7) observed for hematite are assumed to be connected with the existe nce of considerable fraction of U(V) form in the original mineral. The disc ussion is given on the origin of the values of AR approximate to 1 and on i ts connection with different stabilities of U(IV) and U(VI).
