Ow. Greenberg et Rc. Hilborn, The relation of constraints on particle statistics for different species of particles, FOUND PHYS, 29(3), 1999, pp. 397-407
Quans are particles characterized by the parameter q, which permits smooth
interpolation between Bose and Fermi statistics; q = 1 gives bosons, q = -1
gir;es fermions, In this paper ive give a heuristic argument for art exten
sion of conservation of` statistics to quons with, trilinear couplings of t
he form (f) over bar ff, where f is fermion-like and b is boson-like. We sh
ow that q(f)(2)=q(b) In particular we relate the bound on g(y),for photons
to the bound on q(e) for electrons, allowing the very precise bound for ele
ctrons to be carried over to photons. An ex-tension of this argument sugges
ts that ail particles are fermions or bosons to a high precision.
