Sharing minds: Creating the Iowa Scholarly Digital Resources Center

The University of Iowa Libraries, in partnership with facility from a wide range of disciplines, has established the Scholarly Digital Resources Cente r (SDRC) to foster the creation and use of digitized collections and iz sou l ces of interest to the University of Iowa community. Activities include e lectronic publishing, digitizing of unique research materials, and providin g access to digital collections located in other institutions. The SDRC pro vides a unique case study of an emerging digital initiative based on the pr emise of collaboration or "sharing minds." The development of SDRC developm ent, accomplishments, emerging experiences, and future directions are prese nted, as well as challenges and issues inherent in the new scholarly digita l worlds.
