Abstract
Propolis has been reported to exhibit a wide spectrum of activities includi
ng antibiotic, antiviral, antiinflammatory, immunostimulatory and tumor car
cinostatic properties. We showed propolis induced apoptosis in a human hepa
toma cell line (SNU449) by FITC-Annexin V/PI staining. We also compared the
apoptosis inducing effect between Korean and Commercial (Sigma # p-1010) p
ropolis. There was no difference on apoptosis between them.
