Sv. Muginova et al., Use of paper as a support for immobilized peroxidase in a test method for the determination of mercury(II) traces, J ANALYT CH, 54(6), 1999, pp. 569-573
A comparative study has been performed on the activity and stability of hor
seradish peroxidase preparations immobilized on different papers and their
suitability for the determination of mercury(II). A test method has been de
veloped for the determination of mercury(II) by its inhibiting effect on th
e immobilized enzyme in the presence of thiourea in the reaction of 3,3',5,
5'-tetramethylbenzidine oxidation by hydrogen peroxide with the visual dete
ction of the rate of the enzymatic process. The detection limit for mercury
(II) is 5-10 pg/mL (RSD less than or equal to 4%, P = 0.95, n = 6).
