Abstract
This note characterizes the denseness of rational systems
Pn-1(a(1),...,a(n)):= {P(x)/Pi(k=1)(n)(x-a(k)), P is an element of Pn-1} (n
=1,2,...),
in C[-1, 1], where the nonreal poles in {a(k)} (infinity)(k=1) subset of C\
[ -1, 1] are paired by complex conjugation. This extends an Achiezer's resu
