Abstract
A model is presented which allows to obtain a linear relationship between i nfrared and Raman intensity parameters of the strongest vibrational bands o f push-pull conjugated molecules. The results obtained clarify the origin o f the exceptionally large values of the vibrational first hyperpolarizabili ty shown by these molecules. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights rese rved.
