Abstract
This study describes the synthesis and some pharmacological properties of t hree new analogs of arginine vasopressin (AVP) substituted in position 3 wi th (R)-alpha-hydroxymethylphenylalanine ([R]-HmPhe). All new peptides were tested for vasopressor and antidiuretic as well as uterotonic activity. Non e of the 3 analogs showed any presser activity and their uterotonic activit y was negligible. Only analog [Mpa(1),(R)-HmPhe(3)]AVP exhibited significan t antidiuretic activity.
