Abstract
The phase transition in a Fermi liquid, associated with translational symme try breaking and the formation of periodic structures is considered. Specia l attention is paid to the formation of one-dimensional long-periodic struc tures in a three-dimensional Fermi liquid. The relation between the formati on of such structures and kinetic and thermodynamic stability of the normal state of the Fermi liquid is analyzed. (C) 1999 American Institute of Phys ics.
