Abstract
The temperature dependence of the surface resistance of overdoped YBCO film s is studied experimentally. It is shown that the observed unusual behavior of the surface resistance can be described within the framework of spin-fl ip scattering of carriers, which leads to pair-breaking and the emergence o f the gapless state.
