Abstract
Sinusitis, a common illness during childhood, may be overlooked or und ertreated, resulting in suppurative and intracranial complications. Am oxicillin has been the antibiotic of choice for acute sinusitis in chi ldren; however, the emergence of beta-lactamase-producing bacteria has reduced its efficacy. Amoxicillin-clavulanate, cefaclor, erythromycin -sulfisoxazole, and cefprozil are treatment alternatives. This study c ompares the efficacy of these antibiotics in treating acute sinusitis of childhood.
