Abstract
The shower size spectra of the electromagnetic, muonic and hadronic compone nt of extensive air showers are measured simultaneously with the KASCADE de tector. A knee is observed in all spectra corresponding to a primary energy about 4 PeV. The observation of a knee in the hadronic component is presen ted for the first time.
