The quenched chiral condensate is expected to diverge because of the presen
ce of topologically induced zero modes in the spectrum of the Dirac operato
r. We explain why this effect has not been observed in simulations using th
e staggered formalism, and show that the domain wall formalism is better su
ited to the problem. We present a preliminary finding of divergent behavior
in quenched domain wall thermodynamics above T-c,.
