Abstract
Determination of residual stresses in rolled material is important for the design of product and process. Different approaches for determini ng them and difficulties associated with the methods are discussed. A simplified approach to find the longitudinal residual stress (stress i n the direction of rolling) is proposed. A parametric study has been c arried out to show the influence of process parameters on the residual stress distribution pattern. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
