Immunobullous diseases are quite unusual in children. We report two childre
n who developed immunobullous disease shortly after a second solid organ tr
ansplantation. One child had IgA pemphigus vegetans, the other bullous pemp
higoid. We hypothesize that the repeat organ transplantation served as a "b
ooster" immunization for autoantibody production. Both children developed t
heir immunobullous condition while being treated with immunosuppressive dru
gs that are used to treat immunobullous disorders.
