Si. Alekhin, Value of alpha(s) from the analysis of the SLAC-BCDMS deep inelastic scattering data - art. no. 114016., PHYS REV D, 5911(11), 1999, pp. 4016
We perform a NLO QCD analysis of the nonsinglet part of the combined SLAC-B
CDMS data on F-2 With the extraction of alpha(s) and high-twist contributio
n. We show that the value of alpha(s) obtained in the analysis is sensitive
to the statistical inference procedures dealing with systematic errors on
the data. The fit with the complete account of point-to-point correlations
of the data gives the value of alpha(s) (M-Z) = 0.1180 +/- 0.0017 (68% C.L.
), to be compared with the previously reported value of 0.1 13 +/- 0.003 (9
9% C.L.) This new value of alpha(s) is compatible with the CERN LEP measure
ments and the world average. The high-twist contribution, being strongly an
ti-correlated with the value of alpha(s), becomes lower than was previously
reported. [S0556-2821(99)03411-6].
