The remanence enhancement, phase fractions, and coercivity mechanism of Nd2
Fe14B/alpha-Fe and Nd2Fe14B/Fe3B nanocomposite magnets were studied using t
he micromagnetic theory. It was found that magnetocrystalline anisotropy en
ergy density K, together with saturation magnetization M-s of the soft magn
etic phase, plays a key role in the actual value of coercive fields for bot
h Nd2Fe14B/alpha-Fe and Nd2Fe14B/Fe3B nanocomposite magnets. The difference
s between magnetic properties of Nd2Fe14B/alpha-Fe and Nd2Fe14B/Fe3B were s
uccessfully explained. Theoretical results support the experimental values.
