Abstract
The results of field emission microscopy measurements of work function chan ges while heating the water covered W tip are presented. At temperatures up to 280 K non-dissociated H2O particles are present on the tip. Warming the tip at 300 K caused these molecules to dissociate to OH and H. OH groups d issociated to oxygen and hydrogen at temperatures up to 350 K. (C) 1999 Els evier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
