Abstract
Based on the principle of permeation, membrane introduction mass spectromet ry (MIMS) permits fast introduction of nonpolar compounds from aqueous:stre ams into the vacuum of the mass spectrometer. This paper evaluates a MIMS a utomated system for the determination of trihalomethanes, aromatic solvents , and several other organic compounds of environmental significance.
