Abstract
A case is described of acute respiratory failure secondary to variable intr athoracic large airway obstruction due to a lung neoplasm, Successful venti lation was achieved with facemask bilevel non-invasive ventilatory assistan ce allowing radiotherapy and chemotherapy to be undertaken.
