Abstract
Criteria are presented by which analytical methods may be judged to have be en validated for the determination of pesticide residues. All stages of ana lysis are addressed, from initial preparation of samples to the production of results, but with a focus on simplicity and cost-effectiveness of the re quirements. Criteria are provided for both quantitative and qualitative (sc reening) methods and they may be applied to single- or multi-residue method s.
