Mf. Hoque et al., Nodulation, chlorophyll and leghaemoglobin content of soybean as affected by Bradyrizobium japonicum and sulpher molybdenum supplementation, BANGL J BOT, 28(1), 1999, pp. 47-52
The response of soybean to inocula, Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains viz. T
AL 102 and RCR 3407 as single culture and mixture, and fertilizer S and Mo
in different combinations showed that inoculation either alone or in combin
ations with S and Mo increased nodule number, nodule dry weight, chlorophyl
l, leghaemoglobin and grain yield significantly as compared to controls (un
inoculated and unfertilized). Mixed inocula recorded the highest values in
respect of most of the parameters. Amongst the inoculated treatments RCR 34
07 recorded the lowest effectiveness. As regards to interaction effect mixe
d inocula in combination with S-10 and Mo-2.5 recorded the highest effect.
The relationship of the yield performances due to different inocula and fer
tilizers with different biochemical parameters have been discussed.
