Gt. Heydt et al., Improved application of power acceptability curves and their application to certain three-phase loads, ELEC MACH P, 27(7), 1999, pp. 737-751
The electric power acceptability curves are loci in the bus voltage-disturb
ance time plane. These loci separate regions of operation into "acceptable"
and 'inacceptable." Several power acceptability curves exist, and this pap
er discusses a constant energy model for the derivation of the curves. The
application of the curves is discussed. The main foibles of the curves in t
he undervoltage disturbance region are that they do not model three-phase e
ffects and they were not designed for rotating loads. The paper proposes a
solution to these drawbacks. The use of power acceptability curves for thre
e-phase induction motors and six-pulse rectifier loads is discussed.
