M. Maras et al., In vivo synthesis of complex N-glycans by expression of human N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase I in the filamentous fungus Trichoderma reesei, FEBS LETTER, 452(3), 1999, pp. 365-370
The human N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase I gene was introduced in the geno
me of Trichoderma reesei strain VTT-D-80133, Expression was studied after i
nduction from the cellobiohydrolase I promoter. Successful in vivo transfer
of GlcNAc was demonstrated by analyzing the neutral N-glycans which were s
ynthesized on cellobiohydrolase I. Final proof of the formation of GlcNAcMa
n(5)GlcNAc(2) was obtained by NMR analysis. (C) 1999 Federation of European
