Abstract
The fractionation of monoterpene hydrocarbons and oxygenated aroma componen ts from citrus oil was studied for CO2 + orange peel oil mixtures. Phase eq uilibrium and density measurements as well as countercurrent column experim ents were carried out at 323, 333, and 343 K in a pressure range from 7 to 13 MPa. Mutual solubilities of CO2 and orange peel oil are in good agreemen t with literature data for the binary mixture CO2 + limonene. Maximum cross -flow capacities were determined by means of flooding point measurements to enable a preliminary design study with respect to minimum inner diameter o f a countercurrent column.
