Nm. Sergeenko et al., Experimental investigation of bracket electrodes protruding into the flow in the channel of self-excited pulsed MHD generator of the Pamir type, HIGH TEMP, 37(3), 1999, pp. 457-462
The results are given of experimental investigation of a Faraday-type pulse
d MHD generator with discrete bracket-shaped wire electrodes protruding int
o the flow. The process of self-excitation is more intensive than in the ca
se of conventional flat continuous electrodes. For the maximum parameters o
f MHD interaction, the parameters in channels with discrete bracket electro
des and flat continuous electrodes, in the vicinity of which the state of t
he boundary layers is respectively different, are perturbed sharply under c
onditions of virtually the same parameters of MHD interaction, this being i
ndicative of the decisive effect of volume electrodynamic forces on these p
rocesses.
