Abstract
Highly reflective fiber Bragg gratings (reflectivity > 99.99%, -45 dB in tr ansmission) have been written through a 55-mu m-thick novel polymer fiber c oating in a low (5 mole%) germania-doped optical fiber. The coating is base d on vinyl ether chemistry using a cationic photoinitiator.
