Abstract
A technique for characterization of polarization mode dispersion accumulati on along optical fibers is applied on a 57,7-km installed fiber link. Due t o the long beat length of the installed fiber, this technique works particu larly well. Improvements of the range, accuracy and reliability are consequ ently confirmed.
